Sustainability at Kennel & Schmenger

ECOLOGICAL & SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY

At Kennel & Schmenger, sustainability isn’t a passing trend – it’s been part of our DNA from the very beginning. We have always focused on high-quality, long-lasting materials, short supply chains, and responsible manufacturing.

Natural Leather
We choose to work exclusively with leather – a natural by-product of the food industry. This means no additional resources are used for the production of synthetic alternatives, helping us make use of existing materials responsibly.

Solvent-Free Adhesives
Our production uses only solvent-free adhesives, reducing environmental impact and ensuring a healthier workplace for our teams. This choice helps protect both people and natural resources.

Short, European Supply Chains
All our supply chains remain within Europe. Alongside our German production site, we operate two of our own factories in Hungary. We source our leather exclusively from Italy – a country renowned for its rich tradition of leather craftsmanship. For tools and components, we maintain trusted, long-term partnerships with local suppliers.

OUR COMMITMENT TO A SUSTAINABLE FUTURE

We create slow fashion – footwear designed to last. The exceptional quality and timeless style of Kennel & Schmenger shoes mean they can be worn season after season. As our customers’ expectations for sustainability grow, we are proud to exceed them.

We continue to evolve, refining our processes and investing in cleaner energy. In 2022, we installed a photovoltaic system covering our entire factory roof, with further measures planned to reduce our CO₂ footprint.
